CARLY + TANNER ANNIVERSARY SHOOT
PHILBROOK MUSEUM OF ART-TULSA OK
Carly and Tanner were married back in June of 2022. They didn't get married at The Philbrook Museum, but it was one of the first places that they spent time together as a newly dating couple. They were first introduced to each other's families while on a trip to Tulsa, so it was a place of significance to them. I was so excited when they were down to do a wedding styled shoot with me! We sent inspiration back and forth about what kind of vibe we wanted the shoot to be like and dreamed about the vision for the day.
When we talked about dates for the shoot, they only had a couple of weekends available before they moved out of the country for a few months. We had the last weekend available before they moved so we settled on the date, and kept our fingers crossed for good weather (since Oklahoma weather in the spring/summer can be dicey). Leading up to the shoot day, we knew there was a slight rain chance in the forecast, but when we chatted about it we decided "It's Oklahoma. It rarely does what they say it will do anyway, so let's keep the date (especially since we didn't have the luxury of rescheduling) and see what happens closer to time." As it turns out, it rained the WHOLE time. But they were willing to run around in the rain and they absolutely rocked it.
These photos are such a testament to the ability of rain to enhance and not destroy your photoshoot. I am obsessed with how gorgeous the colors of nature can be in the rain and how fun a rainy photoshoot can be. I love it when I get the chance to create photos for couples for special moments in their life and Carly and Tanner were an absolute dream to work with. They were down for anything and everything and I will be staring at these photos forever and ever!!
